Soothsayer Invites You To Get HAAi With Them
HAAi is the real deal and you should go see her when she hits Section 8 for a Soothsayer party…
For well over a year we’ve been enjoying the sounds of the delightfully named HAAi (which actually means ‘shark’ in the colloquial language of South Africa’s Afrikaans). Her Rinse FM show has been one of the go-to shows for us since she started it, and that is saying a fair bit as that station is absolutely packed with huge names.
She favours a loose and exciting style of psychedelic house and techno, all added to her mixer which makes for an intoxicating dancefloor blend. Check out her Essential mix to get a vibe, it’s pretty wild. (It even features Mortal Kombat theme tune). She also runs the Coconut Beats brand which incorporates a club night and label, and she used to be in the shoegaze/psychedelic rock band Dark Bells. And just when you thought she couldn’t be any cooler you find out she is besties with Daniel Avery…
The Soothsayer dudes have just announced that they will host her at Section 8 for a day party which makes us pretty happy. Oh what, you can’t make it ‘cause your working? Don’t sweat it mate, it’s on a Sunday and starts at 4PM so you can attend it after morning church (unless you work in hospitality or some other job where Sunday’s require your attention, in which case take it up with the Soothsayer dudes). The support is hella tight too and features Otologic, Toni Yotzi and Emma Stevenson.
We suggest getting there early as this will be a full house…
