The artist is set to showcase his new music which has ‘evolved in a more groovy way’…

Varhat and Yoyaku fans rejoice! Perlon/Yoyaku-man Cabanne is launching a new vinyl-only label called Polyson, and the first release will be from none other than Yoyaku big dawg Varhat. The release is called Hokenkok and previews are already on Soundcloud (see below).

It’s been three years since Varhat’s first releases surfaced, and judging by the preview snippets he has gone for a darker twist on the usually groovier French Minimal fare he is known for. The title track ‘Hokenkok’ has a heavy bass stab, an ominous vocal and some glitchy elements all coming together for a well layered darkroom track. ‘Chhulub’ is less bass-heavy and more percussive, yet it still delivers a consistent and twisted dark vibe. ‘Chhulub’ also features a remix from Cabanne which adds some of that familiar Yoyaku groove to the track.

Everything associated with Cabanne is usually a success, and with this first release boding well for his new venture, Polyson is sure to be no exception.
