Rainbow Serpent 2019 Is Officially On...

RSF has just dropped its first round announcement - and as per usual it’s a diverse mix of psy, prog, house and death metal...

Ok the death metal is a lie, but the lineup caters to everyone into electronic music. And if you read the lineup and you think 'meh', then bloody hell it is only the first round announcement so chill out...

For the psychonauts, Spain’s G.M.S will take to the stage to celebrate 25 years of bringing hi-strength doof to the people. This will be a bittersweet return, as the-now main member, Riktam, heads to Arrarat for the first time since the passing of his G.M.S. co-founding member, Bansi, earlier this year.

If you know your psy, then you know of Iboga Records. And if you know Iboga Records, then you know of this guy: Perfect Stranger by name, but definitely no stranger to the Australian bush (or clubs for that matter). The owner of the Digital Structures imprint knows how to bang, and luckily for him Australia likes to bang too. MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN.

Perfect stranger

Hey, don't be a stranger...

When Spin Magazine calls you ‘a trailblazer’ you probably are, and that is exactly the feedback trance legend Christopher Lawrence goes to sleep with every night. He is America’s First Man of Trance - and he should also be the first entry on your ‘trance acts not to miss’ list. HUGE.

If you like techno then don't fret mate, this festival is not just all about the music with movie samples and off beat bass, they also have beats with nothing on top of it (techno). If you were planning on bringing your pet bull to the festival, then don't, as Ireland's Matador is on the lineup and he won't take lightly to it. Also, his brand of live techno has won awards, sooo…. you know… its good.

Check it, also on the bill is Secret Cinema and Egbert, both participants in past RSF’s but who, this time, will unite in glorious harmony for a combined LIVE set. FUCK ME DEAD HOW WHAT WHEN?!

Way Out West

Jody Wisternoff and Nick Warren like their drinks shaken, and not stirred...

Other notable announcements include Thailand's Get Physical producer Nakadia (main pic inset), who only made her Australian debut last year but now returns for a considerably bigger show; Patrice Baumel who just cannot get enough of the Market stage as he returns for his third year in a row (come on mate, give someone else a chance lol). It’s been a couple of years between drinks for Oliver Koletzki and RSF, so get the bar stocked as the German is back. Oh, and the legendary proggy breaks act Way Out West will also make their doof debut: if you don't know them make sure you remedy that ASAP, they really are a gift to the electronic music scene.

So yeah, that is just some of the names. Check 'em all out below, start designing your costumes, and clear your diary for the last weekend of January. (And stay tuned for other announcements as they happen)
