Local Form: Vegas Collie

We caught up with an upcoming local DJ who has a healthy disregard for genre boundaries…

Originally from Sydney, Vegas Collie’s venture into Melbourne’s local scene really unlocked his ability to showcase his DJ sets which ranges within the wide and varied spectrum of dance music. In any Vegas Collie set you can expect to hear a range of breaks alongside 90s and contemporary house which can stretch through to more minimal grooves. Even though he is pretty new to the scene, bookings has filtered through at a steady pace, and he’s already played at established Melbourne venues like Circus, Sub Club, Killing Time and New Guernica.

For his Local Form selections, he travels back to 2000 for a tech house gem released on Oblong Records, one of the UK’ most credible underground house labels of the early 00’s, alongside a future classic from Parisian trio Mandar…

Classic: 100 Hz - Whisper

‘This one is definitely ahead of its time. From it’s lush vocals to its hypnotic bassline, this track always manages to hit the spot.’

Current: Mandar - String Theory

‘Definitely my favourite release of 2018. Always a guaranteed floor worker.’
