Irish Rising Star Sally C Set For Melbourne Debut

If you know her, you damn well know her. And if you don’t, then you’d better not forget the name Sally C

She’s the Irish born Berlin-based DJ who to date has rubbed shoulders in b2b sets with Denis Sulta, Kettama, HAAi, and Big Miz. Only a few years prior, Sally Caithness found herself preparing for her first-ever gig on New Years Eve in 2013, heading to the bar she worked at with a handful of records and a copy of Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton’s book ‘How To DJ (Properly)’. Firstly, bringing a how-to book to gigs should be a mandatory prerequisite for all aspiring DJs forever and ever, and secondly, all the power to you Sally, your hard work paid off.

An undoubtable turning point in her career was a 2018 FLY Open Air Festival appearance, where she was handpicked by festival curator and notoriously fun DJ Denis Sulta aka. Hector Barbour.

Hector’s one of my good friends… I think he had a lot of friends who helped him when he was like up-and-coming, so he wants to do totally the same thing with all his pals who are doing good things. He's a wee soul, a wee cute soul”, Sally recalls in a 2018 interview. So cute. You can bet that if she’s been hand chosen by the almighty lord of fun, who we’re still feeling nostalgic about circa Monday at Pitch Music & Arts 2019, then Sally C is nothing short of a prodigy.

Fresh from a huge Boiler Room performance at AVA Festival, and alongside recent sets at Melt! and Lovebox Festivals, Sally C gears up to make her Melbourne debut at the most Melbourne of all venues, Revolver Upstairs alongside George FitzGerald. If her best mate Denis Sulta’s debut at Revolver Upstairs is anything to go off, this is going to be one hell of a show.
