Francesco Castelli is one of Melbourne’s most experienced house selectors…

Music has always run thick through Francesco Castelli's blood: "It's a passion I've nurtured from early childhood", he proudly reminisces. And true to form, it's a theme he's drawn inspiration from since his move to Australia in 2012, immediately immersing himself with the local dance scene. Now he is part of The Quality Projekt, the crew behind The Breakfast Club who turned Mondays into the new Saturday. From day to night, boat to beach, and after-parties to a series' of free events, Quality Projekt's only aim is to share with the public a genuine passion for underground music. This is an ethos that certainly resonates with Franceso. If you like your music lively filled with packets of groove, make sure to catch the Italian weekly at various events throughout Melbourne…

CLASSIC TRACK:

Rhythm is Rhythm - Strings Of Life (1987)

‘I used to listen to this song in the car with my dad. I was 14 yeays old but I still remember the cd… it was Pacha Ibiza Classics. Since then this track has always been something special for me.’

FIRST TRACK:

Armand van helden - The Funk Phenomena (1996)

‘This track will always bring up good memories for me. I’ll never forget everyone jumping around to this on the beach during summer back in my hometown of Senigalia, Italy. My first beach party there was also my first ever DJ set. I was 15 years old.’

Current:

Megablast - Vamos feat. Eribertho Cruz (Pulsinger & Irl Dub) (2019)

‘This isn’t new but I just discovered it. I think this track is a good representation of the style of music I play. It is a perfect mix featuring Latin voices and a super groove to keep your legs moving in the right way.’
