Ombra International Is Recruiting More Warriors

The label lines up another dancefloor weapon to warm up icy cold floors…

Do you like the sound of spaced-out nu-wave? What about rock & roll weirdos driven by the darker side of disco? If you don’t, no sweat, we have you covered… click this link and enjoy. If on the other hand, you say ‘Nay, my freak flag fly high and the darker side of disco makes my loins shimmer!’, then come in a little closer and listen….

Ombra International does not fuck around. They release the sort of music that makes you wanna strip naked and run down the streets screaming ‘AMPUTATE CLOWNS’. Their focus on post-punk, nu-wave and electro-ish vibes put them squarely in the crosshairs of acts like Marvin & Guy, Curses, and Manfredas, and their label aesthetics doesn’t fall far from the tree either. All the artwork looks like a snapshot of some highly illegal 80’s porno, grainy snapshots of BETAMAX scenes which can either a) disgust with its unfathomable horrors or b) excite with it’s highly alluring yet illegal pleasures. So just like the 80’s really…

Suitably, the music being released on there falls somewhere in the middle. You can go and check their discography on Bandcamp here, there is much gold to mine. ..

We are here though to discuss their latest Dog.maWarriors’, a delicious ride through loosely tuned bass, big testosterone filled guitar riffs and a flush of arpeggiated colours. This is a future in which a balearic island only plays loose disco on their local radio to its highly horny residents which is, of course, looping in a constant and natural MDMA peak due to some weird weather event that fried their serotonin supplies to constantly be ON. (ED: UM, is this place for real or… ?)

The full release will be out this coming Friday through Ombra International alongside other tracks from Curses, Local Suicide, Order89 and Amarcord.
