We take a quick journey through Gold Haus founder Willem’s record box ahead of his set this Friday night supporting Huxley….

The local Melbourne scene is currently going through a rebirth with many new crews hitting the clubs. One of these new collectives doing good things is the team behind Gold Haus. As our recent review of their residency at Section 8 stated, ‘the Gold Haus crew has both good tunes and good vibe in spades’. One of those behind Gold Haus is Willem, a local who will be supporting Huxley this coming Friday at Glamorama. This Friday might be his first international support booking, but with a booking portfolio that includes all the local clubs including New Guernica, Revolver, Lounge, yours&mine, Gasometer and Penny Black, he is undoubtedly ready for the next stage…

First: Frankey & Sandrino - Acamar

‘It’s hard to pinpoint a first track, but this one will always hold a special place in my heart. This track was getting rinsed when I first started going to nightclubs as a young lad, and still treats a dance floor well when the time is right. Frankey & Sandrino are one of my all time favourite acts too. Check out their DHA mix if you get a chance!’

Classic: Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (DJ Kid Paul Mix)

’As a 21 year old, my definition of a classic may be quite different to my elders, however one that springs to mind is DJ Kid Paul’s remix of Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar, a rework of an old trance favourite. Nina Kraviz greeted the sunrise with this at a festival I went to Europe and it was extremely epic. A very relaxing 140bpm too.’

Current: Perel - Die Dimension (Marcus Worgull Remix)

‘Haven’t stopped listening to this since Dixon and Ame dropped it at Pitch. I usually can’t narrow down my favourite tracks but this one is a clear outlier. Eden by Coeus also gets an honourable mention, but isn’t dropping for a few days. The Afterlife guys have been rinsing it for a while now and I’m very much looking forward to its release.’
