Scuba And Wehbba Journey To The Red Planet

One of our favourite labels has to be Scuba’s Hotflush Recordings. Over the years it’s been responsible for some deadset classics, and with a release schedule that is more concerned with quality over genre constraints, it is free to explore the width and breadth of what electronic music has to offer. Techno, dubstep, breaks, prog… it’s all fair game for label boss Scuba.

If ‘quality’ is the metric from which Scuba is working, it makes sense that he has teamed up with Brazilian producer Wehbba. The South American has been in high demand of late, releasing on labels ranging from Drumcode to Kompakt, and alongside his partner Anna, they have situated themselves as Brazil’s global techno representatives. 



For the EP Scuba has dusted off his SCB mask for four tracks of sci-fi techno that is just brimming with Wehbba’s cutting production. ’Survival’ is a growling acid monster that will destroy any dancefloor, while ‘Red Planet’ displays a more fluid excursion that is focussed on hypnotising you. ‘New Culture’ will keep you on your toes with layered effects and percussion, and ‘Green Planet’ slows the BPM’s down for a deep techno cut that really showcase the best parts of SCB and Wehbba’s production.
