Every once in a while, you’ll come across a track that comes to define a generation. It’s the embodiment of every night you’ve had out with your mates, the one that gets played at pre’s, the club, and at afters, and a song that more than one person has desperately hummed at you in the hopes you can gift them sweet, sweet relief in the form of a track ID. The song in question? ‘The Bomb’ by Glasgow artist Big Miz, and boy is it a doozy.

Big Miz is an artist you’d know if you're familiar with the music on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, and who has pinned himself alongside industry greats Denis Sulta, Marquis Hawkes and Fear E. Responsible for running the ‘Offbeat’ party series at La Cheetah nightclub, his productions are undoubtedly influenced by the bustling after dark city he grew up in, consistently producing bass heavy jacking house beats that live somewhere on the border of tech-house, classic house, and electronic genres. Adding festivals Lovebox, FLY Open Air and Annie Mac presents: Lost & Found to his list of guest appearances, he’s certainly making quick work of pinning himself alongside the industries elite.

Big Miz is gearing up to return to Australia, making him the perfect candidate for our internet user driven series Top 3 Youtube where we type in the artist’s name into Youtube to see the top 3 items featured and their accompanying top comment…

2. Big Miz Boiler Room Glasgow DJ Set

A turning point in Big Miz’s career, this hour-long set straight from his own home turf perfectly exemplifies his talent and undeniably well-tuned ear. Spare a thought for ‘Julian Hoogendoorn’ who has never heard ‘this sort of techno’, but let face it, is about to be hooked on it forevermore…

3. Big Miz “Good Thing” - Boiler Room Debuts

The 2015 release that ultimately threw Big Miz into the big leagues. From the glitchy distorted synth lead, the laser tight classic house percussion and the Loleatta Holloway vocal sample, it’s fair to say that fame was inevitable. ‘Mike Mullane’ sums out pretty nicely the sentiment we’d all like to extend to Mr Miz…
