LISTEN: Go Into The Realm With Omri Smadar

The producer has announced himself with a major weapon…

Look, with this goddamn virus these here are tough times. Thankfully, Correspondant has your back with a release schedule that will make you want to self-isolate with their music on repeat. And the latest from Jennifer Cardini’s label is not going to do any harm to that reputation.

Hailing from Israel, Omri Smadar is no stranger to the label, and his sound is tailor-made for Correspondant. As yet it seems like he’s not had that moment to announce himself as one to watch. Well, fret no more as we think that moment has arrived in the form of ‘Fragile’, a three-track EP that is a deadset 💯.

Title track ‘Fragile’ jumps out of the gate with skipping organic hats and rolling bass that is one part garage jam and one part summer anthem. ‘Kivun’ is a more straight-forward club cut complete with scatting electronic vocals and a divine melodic breakdown. But our money is on ‘In the Realm’, however, to really penetrate DJ playlists. With vocals from Siam, this 80’s inspired darkwave gem might even have bothered radio playlists if it came with a radio edit. The nonchalant delivery and slap bass make for a sexy and infectious listen that really ramps up the tension in the breakdown. This did some serious dancelfoor damage at the recent Pitch Music & Arts opening day, and we are pretty confident the damage will continue once this fucking virus allows us to go back on the dancefloors.

Seek out now.
