The Weatherdrive just swelled with one more mix…

We’re only three months deep into 2020 and already its been the shittiest year since the turn of the millennium. There are too many events responsible to mention, but (outside of this fkg virus of course) the music world was particularly struck hard by the passing of Andrew Weatherall. He was an innovator, trendsetter, establishment rebel and all-round musical genius. He was one-of-a-kind, the likes of which we’ll probably never see again.

If you need a reminder of his brilliance, check out this Google Drive of Andrew Weatherall mixes put together by his fans. It features over 900 hours of DJ mixes going as far back as 1986. It is very comprehensive.

Or so we thought until this morning when Daniel Avery delivered some excellent news. Back in 2014, Avery played a B2B set with Weatherall somewhere in Brighton, and he just released a two-hour section of that mix. In a word, amazing. And if you’ve not listened to 2014 Daniel Avery yet, then you might be in for a surprise. It was a time when Avery was a fabric club resident and didn’t play cosmic techno. It was also a time when Andrew Weatherall was, no surprises, Andrew Weatherall.

The young protégé back to back with a master craftsman. This mix is a match made in heaven.
