NEWS: Experience A Virtual Burning Man

It’s pretty grim out there for a festival enthusiast. Well, it’s grim in general but if you were gearing up for a big year visiting your favourite events, I feel your pain. But hey at least we have the internet (2020, please don’t take away the internet). Thanks to the world wide web we’ve had the pleasure of watching various DJs and artists live stream their sets. We saw Dixon go into an underwater 3D paradise, Solomun streamed from Switzerland’s first club show since covid-19 struck and Maceo Plex did… this.
If like me you had Burning Man on your to-do list, you would have felt a ping of reality when they announced the festival wasn’t going ahead this year, but look on the bright side Jack, they’ve gone virtual. Burning Man has called the week-long event ‘Multiverse’, claiming it as “the largest virtual art and live music event in history”. (The Sims fans just went bananas.) If you head to their Facebook page you could be excused for not really knowing what’s going on, their campaign is pretty confusing. But what I’ve gathered is they have built a massive online world where you can wander from camp to camp, seeing your favourite artists perform, and on that point – who’s playing? Well again, it’s kinda hard to tell, but we know who’s at Mayan Warrior which is really up Form’s alley so let’s start from there.
Some key acts in the “excited to see” basket at Mayan Warrior’s virtual camp would be Zombies in Miami (Live), Mafredas, Man Power, Rampa b2b &Me, Oliver Koletzki, Shubostar, Moscoman, Dj Tennis, Axel Boman, Fango, Red Axes, Marvin & Guy, Jennifer Cardini, Sasha Funke, Roman Flügel and Ombra International label-boss Curses (see full lineup below). Another Form favourite Damon Jee, is also playing The Fluffy Cloud camp.
