LISTEN: Stay On The Line for Marli

She didn’t want us to write about this but we couldn’t resist…

Since Form’s inception, Marli’s been one of our cornerstone contributors. She is a bona fide club cat, and her articles cover everything from the halcyon days of club flyers to Vakula’s misogyny to explorations on the studio setups of local DJs - all proof of her intense electronic music immersion. Not only is she a skilled writer of words, but she is an exceptional writer of tunes too. Her debut release, a single on Brazilian label Yellow Island as part of their Astral Therapy compilation, is the reason we are writing this.

And look, we might be biased but goddammit, with a strobe-like rhythm her single ‘No Service’ is a stand out amongst the 11 tracks on offer. It’s a bit stoned, kinda dank, and with that very random ‘no service’ sample it is mildly psychedelic. It’s a track you put on at a kick-on to set the mood and show people that you dig hard for your tunes. Get around our gal, pay your phone bill and stay on the line as surely there are more to come. Well done Marls, well done - and sorry not sorry. 🤷🏻‍♂️
