Gerd Janson Returns With His Birkenstocks

The unstoppable force that is Gerd Janson has been house and techno’s best kept secret for years…

Mostly known as a ‘DJs DJ’, of recent years Janson has broken through the confines of the commercially unknown into the limelight as one of the most celebrated DJs on Earth. Check his recent set for Boiler Room at the 2018 Sugar Mountain festival where he mixed his way into many punters hearts.

His Running Back imprint is easily one of the most in-demand current labels, featuring a release schedule that is constantly turning out gold. The recently released The Division EP by Krystal Klear is a good example of Janson’s impeccable A&R skills. Not only did he introduced Krystal Klear to a bigger audience, but he also introduced 2018 to one of it’s biggest tracks so far, the huge ‘Neutrino Dance’, which, incidentally, is also one of the most talked about tracks Janson dropped on the Sugar Mountain Boiler Room set.

With it’s almost New Order-sounding synths, ‘Neutrino Dance’ is an absolute joy and the perfect dance floor ice-breaker. Now Janson has had a go at remixing the track, turning the original into an almost offbeat version of itself with his even more outlandishly-titled ‘Gerd Janson Birkenstock’ remix. With an offbeat bass which pumps the whole way through there is now way you won’t be dancing to this - even if you have Birkenstocks on.

And if you’re after some Gerd Janson live action make sure you catch him in September when he arrives in Australia for two dates...

Thursday 27th September: smalltown @ B3 (Etihad Stadium), Melbourne
Saturday 29th September: Moments Like This @ Greenwood, Sydney
