The Drifter's New Remix Will Induce Goosebumps
The Maeve Recordings boss just can’t put a foot wrong…
Earlier this year The Drifter endeared himself to a massive audience when he took control of the Pitch Music & Arts main stage for 4 hours of blissful house and techno. We cried, we laughed, we took a lot away from that fateful night. None more so than the fact the Irishman is one of the most underrated acts in all of dance music today.
As one of the men behind Maeve Recordings, he is also a legit tastemaker. One look at the label's past releases betrays his high-quality signing credentials. The most recent signing is from Italian duo Underspreche, their Poet-Ease EP a diverse three-track mix of cerebral and deep cuts. It's the Drifter's remix, however, of 'Immersa Nel Tuo Viaggio' that stands out taller than the rest.
It is a mesmerising journey of deep tech house that takes a good four minutes to hook you in. On paper, a minimal beat and a mildly nervous robotic synth that seems out of control don't sound like a good combo, but in the hands of The Drifter that is recipe designed to thrill. And once the pensive breakdown wash over you, you just can't help but wonder why in God's blue earth The Drifter is not bigger than what he is. The mind boggles…
As it stands, he is the sweet secret of a select few dance music lovers, and for the time being, we are okay with that. And in case you missed it, he will be returning to Australia for two shows. If you're not familiar with Ireland's best kept secret start living al little and attend one of his upcoming shows…
