LISTEN: Jousting Sticks Strike Hard On Debut

Jousting Sticks comes in strong on debut release…

When many think of the term ‘jousting sticks’ they are probably transferred back to that scene in The Castle. From now, hopefully, it might just remind you of a Melbourne producer making pretty cool, brooding-like nu-tech. You see, Jousting Sticks is the production moniker of local Aidan Sealey, and he just opened his portfolio in style. His debut release on Paraguay’s MAL Records (a BAD Records subsidiary), contains two finely tuned dance floor weapons designed for different moments. 'Odysee' is the most propulsive: the confidant strut, melting effects, and intermittent percussion tesselate into a tight groove. On 'Matrix' an undemanding melody is smeared across the drums like a thick colourful crayon. It's simple, effective and ignites all ‘dem feels.

Needless to say, if you see this in the Trading Post, buy at all costs.
