Local Form: TALEENA

Taleena.jpg

Ex-Queenslander TALEENA is a promising artist now based in Melbourne…

TALEENAs career has been on a steady upward trajectory. Her drive and passion for all forms of house and techno have shaped her sound in the studio, which often straddles the darker side of those genres. Her DJ sets reflect her passion for the underground, an honesty that shines through in her performances. You can catch her at some of Australia's leading venues from Revolver to Chinese Laundry (Sydney) to Coco (The MET, Brisbane). Taleena released her debut single 'Lunar' on Club Sweat last year which gained attention from Triple J's specialised dance music shows. ‘The Theory' followed on Double Up Records, and went on to gain support from the likes of Shiba San, Richy Ahmed, Anna Lunoe, Detlef and Don Diablo. Stay tuned for a promising 2020…

Classic track

Dusky - Nobody Else [2013]

Such a beautiful song, so groovy and such a nice sweet vocal. The song feels so light yet so deep and perfect for an intimate club show. Sets the mood when played at the right time. Gets me in the feels.

current track:

Monolink - Black Day (Adam Beyer Remix) [2019]

Such a nice remix of a wonderful tune. The vibe created in this song reflects onto the dancefloor. Hard-hitting, yet so ambient and powerful. Love this track right now.

First track:

Illusionize & Victor Lou - Bass Down Low [2015]

I can’t even think that far back but one track I remember buying that I was so stoked about was Bass Down Low by Illusionize & Victor Lou. Going through phases of loving and playing different genres this song is one I will always remember purchasing. I was so excited to play it and it worked in so many sets years ago. It would 100% still bang in one of my sets these days.

TIME: Juliet Fox (Drumcode)
