FANTÆSIA Returns With Shedbug
The evolution of Melbourne’s dance scene has seen the rise and fall of a multitude of collectives, clubs and artists over the years.
Relatively new entrants to the scene, Fantæsia is a spirited collective hosting quality events in Melbourne. Speaking to Fantaesia co-founder Ben Rogers (Oxymoronic), he explained that “Fantaesia aspires to create a fluent link between the 90’s rave scene to the present day, allowing the bizarre, the curious and deviant ravers to immerse themselves in a space that represents everything they are.”
For their second instalment, Fantaesia returns to the increasingly popular CBD warehouse venue, to host the acid-infused, bass-rich sounds of Berlin-based Shedbug and Sydney’s DJ Scorpion. Having released on labels such as Lobster Theremin, Flux Music and Deeptrax Records, the returning Shedbug heads up Salt Mines alongside Rudolf C. DJ Scorpion is best known in Sydney for her highly eclectic range and being a part of the Body Promise. On the night expect anything from Jungle, Breaks, Electro, Drum and Bass and more.
Setting the stage will be the exciting Taiwanese-born talent of Kaytseng, whose gritty, dark take on electronic music has already garnered the attention of Melbourne following an engaging performance supporting Mama Snake. Fantaesia’s resident DJs SANCTUM (affinity/Equinox events), El Grey (Translate) and Oxymoronic will round out this exciting showcase.
