An all-star lineup assembles for the worthiest of causes…

Well and truly within the silly season and making the most of Melbourne’s freedom, the cornucopia of music events currently on offer within ‘burn city is overwhelming. Whether it be open-air day parties, late-night club antics, live performances, or DJ showcases, we’re spoilt for choice. Undoubtedly, few are as notable and important in their offerings us the upcoming Dance For Love charity event.

Founded by Melbourne creative Jamie The Scorpio, Kinky Audio’s latest event will be raising money for the ASRC and Pay The Rent institutions to support local minority communities.‘Kinky Audio are firm believers that all humans are equal and should be treated so. In our eyes, everyone is welcome [in Australia]. To symbolise this, we have chosen to support two charities that assist the most marginalised members of our wider community, namely indigenous, First Nations People and refugees/asylum seekers.’

A series that has in the past ventured to Section 8, Lucky Coq and Glamorama, this instalment will see the group step things up a notch, taking over Melbourne’s beloved Fairfield Amphitheatre. Featuring DJ JNETT, Baba Noir, Midnight Tenderness, DJ Mum, Ryan Berkeley (Live), Jamie The Scorpio and more, the event will incorporate morning yoga and breathwork, as well as a Welcome To Country, which local Aboriginal Elders will perform. Undoubtedly leaning toward the warm and soulful side of dance music, we’re tipping this not-for-profit event as one of the best of the season.

So if you’re struggling with the guilt of too much take, and not enough give this year, pencil in Dance For Love on Sat 17th of April, and park a seat along the banks of the Yarra for a wholesome day of music, culture, and community.
