Over the last three months, since our return to standard club programming, we've been spoiled for choice. There has been an explosion in club attendance, and many new events have blossomed in this highly fertile environment. One of the events that have been a glittering star amongst the multitude of celestial club bodies is React, a new night at Bourke Street Courtyard. They are only two sold-out events deep, but it's already made its mark. Their ethos is simple: old-school rave, trance and techno wrapped in a highly progressive aesthetic. Their musical programming is indicative of overall energy permeating society - that being a yearning for a time when things were simpler, i.e. pre-COVID. React complement that feeling with production that screams RAVE, FUN, SWEAT and FUCK YEAH. It's not just all old-school, and their past booking roster has shined a spotlight on a new Melbourne sound that is one part trance/techno, one part broken beats and one part progressive futurism. If you haven't joined the raucous fun yet, remedy that with their upcoming third event. That lineup is delicious.
