NEWS: Lobster Theremin Announce DJ Life EP

If you follow the UK’s Lobster Theremin, two things stand out clearly: 1) they release fucking ripper tunes and 2) the label name might just be the biggest non sequitur in all of music. That name makes sense though if you follow label owner Asquith’s IG meme account. The man obs loves to banter. You can just imagine him cooking up Lobster Theremin after a two-day bender sitting around with his mates when it hits him ‘let’s start a record label and call it Lobster Theremin lol!’ - and then like an absolute lord follows through with it. What doesn’t make sense is how he manages to unearth top-notch tuneage with each release. His strike rate is fkg immense; top of the table shit.

Joining that esteemed statistic will be Melbourne’s DJ Life. The producer is currently on a trajectory that should have frothers in the Wall Street Bets Reddit group beside themselves if the producer tracked as a stock. His recent strike rate producing bangers is starting to resemble Asquith’s success rate signing bangers. So if you ever wondered what would happen when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object, circle the date of 29th October. That’s when Lobster Theremin will release a five-track DJ Life EP. Ewwww…

To tie us over till then, lead single ‘Gnagnag’ is available on Bandcamp - and with its delightful synths, warm house throb and mid-90’s prog sensibilities it’s a vintage DJ Life jam. But if you just can’t wait till then, check previews for the full release here…
