Let Them Eat Cake delivers another lineup worthy of your attention…

There is nothing better than starting the year with an absolute raucous bang. For the last 8 years Let Them Eat Cake has provided the perfect playground for those seeking to reset for the new year, a place where you can safely proclaim that this is the year you hit the gym three times a week, run at least 5 km’s a day and start those psychiatry sessions to deal with that annoying insecurity issue you’ve had since your mom started dating again after the messy divorce. (Or is that just me…? I get it, not everyone is built for running).

Werribee Mansion is quite a special venue: the gardens are greener than a Denver, Colorado marijuana dispensary and the mansion is tailor-made for all your social media photo needs. In the past we’ve heard the event being referred to as a private garden party featuring your mates and some international DJs - and we are assuming whoever said that must have over 10 000 mates. But it is kinda true as the location makes for quite an unique vibe. So each year we wait with bated breath for Let Them Eat Cake to roll out their ingredients for a fresh new cake… wait no more as they just rolled out a very DELICIOUS lineup.

Jon Hopkins

A man in touch with his creative side…

Without a shadow of a doubt, Jon Hopkins is the most credible electronic music act today. He expertly manges to be an underground darling and a mainstream media favourite at the same time. The man really is touched by the production gods, a conduit for all that is musically pure - or he could just be taking a lot of psychedelics. You can decide this coming NYD when he throws down a rare DJ set at LTEC.

HAAi

Just when you thought you can’t get much higher…

It is no secret that we are enamoured by the sounds of HAAi. Since adding her vocals to shoegaze-ish band Dark Bells, she has gone on to become a darling of the electronic music scene with a very unique brand of psychedelic house and techno guaranteed to make you haaaaai. Last year she even took out the award of for Essential Mix of the year which by any measure is a pretty big deal, now she can add performing at Let Them Eat Cake to her portfolio too. Nice.

Add to that Honey Dijon and Denis Sulta and this cake is looking extremely rich. You really wouldn’t want to be anywhere else on NYD.
