The 2019 lineup is arguably the best to date, overflowing with local and internationals that are well versed in all the genres needed for you to have a seriously good time. In short, you’re in extremely capable and talented hands.

If you need some guidance in regard to who you should see, don’t sweat it, we gotcha back. Here are 5 artists that you absolutely can’t miss at Let Them Eat Cake 2019!

Ama Lou (UK) (Live)

At just 20 years old, British singer/songwriter Ama Lou embodies all the soul and grace of the singers she idolises (and even resembles) such as Jill Scott and Ella Fitzgerald. As a classically trained singer and self-taught music producer, her music is a blend of new soul, infused with rnb that consistently holds a political or cultural message.

Watch the enthralling video clip for her single ‘DDD’ to get an idea of what we are talking about. Not only did she produce the track, but she also wrote and directed the music video herself (beautifully shot by her sister Mahalia John). She is the real deal. This will be Ama Lou’s first trip to Australia.

Chaos in the cbd.jpg

Chaos In The CBD (NZ)

Chaos In The CBD consist of two brothers from Auckland NZ who peddles a sonic amalgamation of house, jazz, ambient experimental, and so much more. Even stating themselves that their music style is hugely diverse, their history of playing in high school bands was all the foundation they needed to construct warm electronic music.

Don't be spooked though by their potpourri of different genres, the thread that connects all their influences is called 'FUN', and no dancefloor can resist their Antipodean charms. Having released multiple EPs on labels such as In Dust We Trust, Mule Musiq, and Rhythm Section, they are 100% one to factor in on your NYD. Expect some nakedness. Churr bro.

MidlandThree.jpg

Midland (UK)

Harry Agius aka. Midland is a British DJ, producer, and record label owner. With an expansive record collection, and an insatiable ability to produce some of the grooviest house music coming out of the UK, Midland’s 2016 track ‘Final Credits’ has become somewhat of an anthem for Australian audiences since it’s release, and even won Mixmag’s 2016 song of the year (that was a strong year for ol’ Midland: he also took out 2016’s Essential Mix of the Year honours).

Talk to anyone who played witness to his set at the inaugural Pitch Music & Arts festival and they will use superlatives like ‘Fuck’, ‘Heck’, ‘Life-changing’ and ‘Unbelievable’. It was good man, like set-of-the-festival good. Miss Harry at your own peril.

Nightmares on wax.jpg

Nightmares On Wax (UK)

Nightmares On Wax is the dreamiest turntablist we ever did hear. Affluent in the genres of soul, disco, funk, and house, his style is one you can tell only comes from those who grew up digging through crates and listening to the greats. In the nineties he was responsible for this stoner classic, and today he is responsible for making many ladies pregnant via his highly potent DJ sets.

Born in Leeds, and currently living in Ibiza, we’ve been playing his 2013 Boiler Room on repeat since it was released, and are expecting he’ll be the highlight of a memorable afternoon at LTEC 2019. Also check out the smooth mix from Ibiza which is perfect for pouring cocktails, chilling out and getting ready for a big day.

peggy-gou-soy.jpg

Peggy Gou (GER)

2018 was undoubtedly the year of Peggy Gou. The South Korean-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer has been jumping from win to win in recent years, releasing 4 EP’s in 2016, playing over 100 shows in 2017, and this year winning ‘Track Of The Year’ with her dancefloor anthem ‘Itgehane’.

She is the ultimate IT girl, transcending the music scene to win over the fashion and modelling worlds too. Musically she delves into the electronic, disco, acid, and break beat, with a certain style and finesse that ensures you’ll most certainly be having a ‘Gou’ (ED: nice) time. If this isn’t enough to get you amped, I don’t quite know what will… we’ll see you at the mansion.
