No-holds-barred electro and techno from a rising Australian producer…
We recently premiered XYSid’s banging new single ‘Synthetic Oscillation Systems’, en electro slammer of the highest order. Not only was the single taken from the producer’s debut album of the same name, but it also doubles as the first LP release for the Backpocket Slammers label. The album is quite a ride, oscillating from the ominous deep house (‘Tidal Generator’) to straight-up Detroit Techno (‘Linkage Manipulator’). The album was crafted in XYSid’s home studio featuring vocals from CREY, a fellow producer and MC, and collaborations with BPS residents My Boyfriend and Body Confidence. Underpinning it all, of course, is the steely and abrasive energy of electro. Make sure you familiarise yourself with it. On this 60 minute mix, the producer stays true to form with a blistering blend of techno, electro and big, massive breaks. We can’t think of a better way to wave goodbye to 2020.
