NEWS: Dancing To Beats For Beds

Revolver joins global charity broadcast…

It's been a tough time for everyone, but for some, it’s been worse. An estimated 25,000 people experience homelessness in Victoria, and with state government funding supporting homeless people during lockdowns ending soon, that number will rise. Thank God then for charities like Launch Housing, an independent and secular agency started in 1964 whose sole aim is to provide various services to people experiencing homelessness. It's a pretty essential service that needs all the help it can get. Tilt Shift and Revolver agrees - and they are doing something about it.

This weekend they will join forces with global initiative Beats for Beds, an online event that started in Dec 2020 and has grown into an international movement. The idea is an uncomplicated one: musicians band together to raise money and awareness for the homeless through a series of in-person events hosted in various countries and broadcast globally over the weekend. What's really, really, really cool is the broadcast will move like a relay race from city to city, starting in Melbourne and moving to events in Manchester, London, Canada, Scotland and finishing off Sunday night in Leeds. So you can start your night in Revolver before finishing in the UK. Technology hey.

Oh, and of course, you can head to Revolver this weekend to check it in action, knowing that a percentage of the door revenue you oh-so-generously added to will go to Launch Housing. So check the lineup below and go show some support. And if you can't make it on the weekend then feel free to donate here or tune in to the stream live from here.
